Monique van Bruggen
Monique is a music therapist, a musician, and a researcher. She studied guitar in the Netherlands and played in the Wichita Falls classical guitar ensemble in the 90s. She is currently finishing her Ph.D. by doing research on how music can activate the brain and how music therapy can be beneficial for people with neurological diseases. Monique is married to husband Leo who works at the pilot training program at Sheppard AFB and they have two children, Mark and Wendy. This is the third time for Monique and her husband to live in Wichita Falls, with the first coming in 1982.
Monique works as a music therapist for WFISD going to different schools to help children with special needs. She also volunteers at Hospice of WF.
Why say yes to DFTS?"I think it is a very nice event, I had the pleasure of seeing it in 2014 when my friend Dennis Cannedy participated and I was very enthusiastic, especially because of the good charities of this event. I hope my participation will get the SAFB-Nato-community more in the picture. I’d love to try and be the liaison."
David Molina is a professional florist and cake artist and is the owner of Lina Mo Cake Designs nestled in Archer City where he creates cakes for all occasions for clients across Texas and Oklahoma and an array of mouth-watering desserts. David is also a professional dancer, instructor, & choreographer and who didn't start dancing until the age of 40. Soon after beginning his training in all types of dance, David found himself training hard to make up for lost time and for six years took a total of 18 classes per week to get to the level he is today. His training has taken place in Branson, MO, Arkansas, & Texas. He has participated in DFTS for the last three years.
