Melanie is a news anchor and producer for KFDX and has been in Wichita Falls for a year. When she's not waking up before the crack of dawn to deliver you the news and heckle the weather guy, she loves to cook up some Italian cuisine at home and makes a mean spaghetti, and actually considered attending culinary school. One of her idols happens to be Gordon Ramsey. Growing up, Melanie wanted to be a marine biologist and swim with dolphins or be an Egyptologist. She loves to swim every chance she gets. Mel is extremely close with her family back in Colorado and is the proud aunt of two adorable nieces and soon to be two nephews. She enjoys all types of music but her favorites are the classics like Frank Sinatra. She also enjoys dancing to hip-hop, jazz, rock 'n' roll, Latin and African dance. Her favorite quote is from Martin Luther King, Jr.: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only Light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”
Melanie is on the board for Backdoor Theatre.
